    • Intro / Course Overview / Presenter Bio & Scooter Experience

    • The scooter story (history & overview of Lambretta & Vespa)

    • Scooter design - differences between Lambretta / Vespa

    • Licence requirements - CBT / Full licence

    • Buying a classic Lambretta / Vespa

    • Controls familiarisation - Clutch, Gear change, Throttle, Brakes, Choke, Petrol, Lights & horn

    • 2 Stroke Petrol / Oil Mix ratio / E10 vs E5 Petrol (including recommended oils to use)

    • Running in a rebuilt engine

    • Simple Maintenance:

      • Changing Wheels

      • Changing Spark Plug

      • Changing Bulbs

      • Adjusting Brake Cable

      • Adjusting Clutch Cable

      • Replacing Control

      • Cables Changing Gearbox Oil

    • Essential Tools to Carry

    • Essential Spares to Carry

    • Essential & Regular Safety Checks

    • Winterising your Scooter

    • Intro / Course Overview

    • 2 Stroke Petrol / Oil Mix ratios / E10 vs E5 Petrol (including recommended oils to use)

    • Running in a rebuilt engine

    • Diagnosing Common Poor Starting & Running Issues (common component failures)

    • Common Roadside breakdowns - temporary repairs to get you home

    • Electrical Issues - Common Causes of:

      • No Spark

      • Lighting Issues; lights not working, blowing bulbs

    • Carburettor - how to Strip & Clean Brakes

      • Rear Hub Removal & Brake Shoe Replacement

      • Front Hub Removal & Brake Shoe Replacement

    • Essential Lambretta Workshop Tools

      • Essential Tools to Carry

      • Essential Spares to Carry

    • Essential & Regular Safety Checks

PRESENTERS

Neil Wicks aka Wicksy

Neil or Wicksy to his friends has owned scooters since he was a teenager acquiring his first Lambretta LI 150 at the age of just 14! An extremely well known and respected Lambretta expert both locally in Wiltshire and throughout the UK. Neil has worked as a Lambretta mechanic for Revival scooters and has even built a scooter for Jonathan Ross!! 

In 2023 Neil completed the Milan – Taranto 2 week scooter endurance race on his 1956 Lambretta 150D.

Nick Webb

Nick fell in love with the Italian styling of scooters as a youngster & bought his first scooter in Germany in 1983 (a Vespa 50 Special of course!!) which was transported back to the UK on a Hercules airplane! A lifelong passion for scooters Nick now “works” at Vintage Metals. Nick’s most used scooter is his Lambretta GP 200 TS1 having owned in for 30 years.
